Rewriting the Story

A Full Moon Sound + Reiki Ritual

Each full moon invites us to pause beneath her silver light and look honestly at the stories we’ve been living. Some of those stories once protected us — they helped us make sense of uncertainty or pain. Some stories were handed down to us by loved ones. But as we grow, certain narratives begin to feel tight around the edges. The full moon’s radiance reminds us that what is seen can be healed, and what is healed can be rewritten.

This week's Sound + Reiki gathering is centered on Reframing the Stories We Tell Ourselves — learning to release the narratives of limitation and step into gentler, truer versions of who we are.

The Energy of the Full Moon

The full moon is illumination embodied. It reveals the patterns that operate in shadow — the old self-talk, looping doubts, or inherited beliefs that quietly write our scripts. In this phase, we’re not asked to fight them, but to see them clearly. Awareness is the first line of editing in the soul’s manuscript.

Through Reiki, we invite that lunar light into the mind and heart, allowing the energy to wash away tension and reveal space for a new story. The sound bowls carry this process even deeper, helping the body remember its natural rhythm of release and renewal.

The “Rewriting the Story” Crystal Grid

At the center of our ritual sits a luminous grid — a mirror of our intention.

Center Stone – Illumination & Truth: Clear Quartz represents clarity and higher awareness, the blank page upon which a new story is written.

Inner Circle – Reframing the Mind:

Labradorite awakens insight and help us perceive our experiences from a higher vantage.  Rhodonite and moonstone soften emotional residue and invite forgiveness.

Middle Circle – Emotional Healing:

Moonstone honors the cyclical nature of the moon and helps to illuminate that which had previously been in shadow.

Outer Circle – Release & Grounding:

Selenite anchors the process, ensuring that what we release is transmuted into the Earth.

A Simple Practice

Try this any time you uncover an old story that you may be willing to release.

  1. Settle and Breathe: Close your eyes and bring to mind a story about yourself that feels heavy or outdated.
  2. Acknowledge: Whisper gratitude to that story — it once served a purpose.
  3. Ask: Gently inquire to yourself whether you are willing to let the story go. If your brain says "No," then inquire further until you get a "Yes"
  4. Release: Exhale as if letting ink fade from a page.
  5. Rewrite: Inhale and imagine new words forming in silver light — words of truth, love, and possibility.
“I am the author of my becoming.”

After the Ritual

Write your new affirmation on paper and place it under moonlight or near your favorite crystal. Let the words charge overnight as a promise to yourself.

Each time you catch the full moon in the sky, remember: her light is your light — reflected, magnified, and ready to illuminate your next chapter.
